This Privacy Policy describes how ChefAI (“we”, “our”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile application on Android (and any future platforms we support). By using ChefAI, you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

ChefAI is published by the developer account operating as MD Solaiman / Nisharga Labs on Google Play. For privacy questions or requests, contact: solaimanripon@gmail.com.

2. What ChefAI does

ChefAI helps you generate cooking recipes using artificial intelligence. The app may use text or photos you provide, optional community features, saved recipes on your device, and in-app credit packs sold through Google Play.

3. Information we collect

• Anonymous install identifier: A random ID stored on your device to manage free and purchased credits on our servers. This is not your Google account name or email.
• Recipe and cooking inputs: Text you type (ingredients, preferences, language) and photos you choose for recipe generation. These are sent to our backend to produce recipes.
• Purchase information: When you buy credit packs, Google Play processes payment. We receive purchase tokens and product identifiers from Google Play to verify the purchase and add credits. We do not receive your full card number.
• Community content (optional): If you post in Community, you may provide a display name, text, and images. Community posts you create are stored on your device unless otherwise described in the app.
• App data on your device: Saved recipes, settings, and similar data stored locally (for example via on-device storage).
• Usage and analytics data: When you use the app, we collect information about how the app is used through Google Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase). This may include app interactions (for example when you generate or save a recipe, or complete a credit purchase), session information, app version, device type, operating system version, and general location derived from your IP address (such as country or region). We do not use this analytics service to read the text of your recipes or photos you select for generation. ChefAI does not show in-app advertisements and does not integrate third-party advertising SDKs (such as AdMob). Analytics data may be used to measure whether our own marketing campaigns lead to meaningful app use (for example recipe generation).
• Technical data: Basic request metadata needed to operate the service (for example API errors and timestamps) on our backend.

4. How we use information

• Generate and deliver recipes and related features you request.
• Manage credit balances, billing, and fraud prevention for purchases.
• Improve reliability, security, and performance of the app and backend.
• Understand how features are used (analytics) so we can improve ChefAI and measure the effectiveness of our own user-acquisition efforts.
• Comply with legal obligations.

5. Where data is processed

Data may be processed by:

• Our backend (hosted on Render at https://chefai-backend-jgth.onrender.com) — recipe requests, credit wallet, purchase verification.
• Google — Google Play Billing for in-app purchases; Google Gemini (or related Google AI services) used by our backend to generate recipe content from your inputs; and Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) to collect usage and diagnostic analytics as described in section 3. These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy policies. We send only what is needed to provide the feature you use.

6. Permissions

ChefAI may ask for permissions such as:

• Photos / media: To pick images for recipe generation or community sharing, and optionally save images to your gallery when you choose.
• Notifications: If you enable timers or similar features.
• Microphone / speech: If you use voice input where supported.

You can deny permissions in device settings; some features may not work without them.

7. Retention

We keep server-side credit and billing records as long as needed to operate the service and meet legal requirements. Recipe inputs sent for generation are processed to fulfill your request and are not intended for long-term public display. You can delete locally saved recipes and community content from within the app where those controls exist. Analytics data collected by Google Firebase is retained according to Google’s settings and policies; you can learn more in Google’s documentation or contact us with questions.

8. Sharing and sale of data

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers listed above (including Google for analytics, billing, and AI processing), when required by law, or to protect rights and safety.

9. Children

ChefAI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Security

We use HTTPS for communication with our backend. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to protect data using reasonable technical measures.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete certain data. You can:

• Clear app data or uninstall the app to remove on-device storage.
• Email us to request deletion of server-side data tied to your install ID (include any support details you can).
• Manage Google Play purchase history through your Google account.
• On Android, you may limit ad personalization or reset your advertising ID in system settings; this can affect how Google associates analytics with marketing measurement. Analytics collection tied to Firebase may continue while you use the app.

12. International users

If you use ChefAI from outside Bangladesh, your information may be processed in countries where our providers operate (including the United States). By using the app, you understand this transfer.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the new version at this URL and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
